Dojo Rules

We are a community, and we each become better by helping one another. Take care of your training partners and be conscious of differences in size and strength. Carefully consider how your words and actions may affect others.
No shoes on the mat, bare feet only. Leave your shoes at the entrance of the Academy. Turn phones on silent.
Arrive on time for class. If you arrive late, wait outside the mat area and ask Instructor’s permission before entering the mat.
Bow (with “Ous!”) as you step on and off the training area. This shows respect for your training, your instructors / training partners and your Dojo.
Maintain a respectful posture and greet all training partners and instructors when entering and leaving the Dojo.
Listen respectfully and without talking while your instructors explain techniques. Resist the urge to give unsolicited advice to fellow students. No whining, no complaining, no foul language.
Do not touch any equipment, unless authorized by an Instructor.
Always wear a shirt or rash-guard under the Gi jacket. No bare chests. Always wear a groin protector at all time.
Always remove all jewelry and keep finger nails and toes nails cut short and clean.
Kimonos and clothing must be washed after every use. Always maintain good hygiene.
Inform your instructors in advance, if you need to leave the class earlier.
Respect the Dojo and help to keep it clean at all time. No food or drink other than water in the training area. No junk food in Dojo or waiting and changing rooms. No chewing gums.
Do not abuse your knowledge of Martial Arts.
NO: pulling hair, pushing, grabbing/striking the neck and spine, any type of attacking the groin, finger and toe locks, pulling individual fingers, any type of slamming the Opponents’ body/back on the ground. No training with a cold, flu or contagious infection of any kind.
