Preamble - Last update December 18th, 2018
The Diploma do Jiu-Jitsu (DPJJ) consists of a series of several consecutive days of seminars. In the morning the basic techniques (Fundamentals) and in the afternoon the advanced techniques (Advanced) are taught and practiced together.
One or two times a year, there is also a 2- to 3-day boot-camp; starting on Thursday or Friday evening and ending on Saturday evening. During the boot-camps there are also official "exams" for students and coaches - for all color belts and Dan grades.
Regardless of whether you are from the Gracie / Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or any other martial arts, training as a trainer / instructor and the "Blue belt test" will be exactly the same for all future network representatives to ensure the quality of future education and training prescribed by Vacirca Brothers standards.
Note: For the sake of readability, the male form has been chosen in the following text, nevertheless the information refers to members of both sexes.
The trainer should be given the authority to teach the official GJJNE Fundamentals program at the end of the training. If the trainer has received the teaching permission and the "Blue belt test" (or a higher belt grade), he is also entitled to take part in the "Advanced" course days.
Special note: Regardless of whether you are a student or a trainer, you can participate independently of the current belt color on the "Advanced" course days! For the official certification to a higher instructor level, however, the belt color (from blue and up), training time (training years) and participation in all training sessions (Fundamentals + Advanced) must be demonstrated.
The seminar days are exclusively held by experts of the Academy Gracie Zurich or international experts. During the boot-camps there are also special seminars with guest teachers. However, these are not included in the basic price and participation remains optional. The supervisions of the training are Vacirca Brothers, Franco and Demetrio based in Zurich.

Black Belt Carrier and Team Leaders
Maintaining the teaching power and aiming for a higher degree:
Persons who have been awarded the title DPJJ also undertake to receive regular training at Academy Gracie Zuerich and / or JJGF courses in order to maintain the GJJNE teaching license and to be later recognized as having a higher degree of grading. For this you can participate in the aforementioned boot-camps, seminars or workshops. Various courses are free or specially discounted for GJJNE Team Leaders.
GJJNE School Partnership:
As a partner, all Gracie / Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu students (members), regardless of belt color and age group, as well as gender, are required to register at the Network Headquarters (GJJE HQ) in Zurich. The students pay an annual license fee of EUR 60.00 (or in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, CHF 70.00) - for the first time at school / club entry and then at the end of November for the new calendar year.
The licenses must be taken personally by the end of November 2017 by the team leader. For first / new members, the student's Network enrollment form must always be complete and filled in correctly to send the GJJNE HQ. The already registered members can be forwarded using the GJJNE Excel list of the headquarters:
- Note: Partner schools that do not obtain licenses can no longer be accepted / recognized as teachers from 2018 onwards. Please also read the information on our Network Homepage www.gracieconcepts.ch "Member Structure" (in english available).
- Note: In the first two (2) years, at least 10 student licenses (per school) must be obtained in order to be recognized as a GJJNE Partner. In the first "start-up" year we remain flexible and only charge the registration fee of CHF / EUR 200.00. From the second year, however, the official student license guidelines apply; These can also be found on our Network Homepage www.gracieconcepts.ch "Rules and Regulations" (in english available).
Course Award - Certificates:
After attending the complete "Fundamentals" course, you will receive the official GF1 certificate "Gracie Concepts - Gracie / Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Fundamentals". For the Blue belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, however, a minimum training / waiting period of 2 to 4 years is required, depending on the experience you brought with you. If the student already has the GJJNE Blue belt, he will be re-graduated or confirmed according to the JJGF guidelines.
Students who have attended and successfully completed both courses will be certified with the official DPJJ certificate (GA2) of GJJNE. The degree is assessed and certified according to the JJGF guidelines. If you also want the official JJGF certificate as a Black belt, you have to reckon with additional costs (in 2017, approx. USD 200.00) - more information at www.jjgf.com.
